Firefighters from Oceanside and Camp Pendleton worked Monday to extinguish a fire that broke out in a riverbed near the base, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 3:52 p.m. off Douglas Drive, north of Via Cibola, a North County dispatcher said.As of about 5:30 p.m., the fire burned between 15 and 20 acres, a local television station reported.No one was evacuated, an Oceanside police dispatcher said.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
