Johnson said he saw flames that were about 18 feet in the air. "I heard an explosion, and I looked over and there was a bunch of smoke coming up, and the smoke was really black and big and thick," he said. Lakeside Fire Protection District Division Chief Jim Kirkpatrick said a man claiming he was burned in the incident showed up at a nearby fire station. "The closest fire station was just beginning to get en route to the call when a civilian drove up in a pickup truck complaining of burns from this incident," said Kirkpatrick. The man was taken to UCSD Medical Center to be treated. 10News learned he suffered burns to his face. There is no word on his condition. Kirkpatrick said the man claimed he was in the motor home when someone set it on fire but could not say how it was started or if it was arson. Members of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department Bomb/Arson Unit were on scene to investigate what may have sparked the fire. The motor home was declared a complete loss."As you can see from the damage there, it's obviously not usable anyway and probably no way to salvage it," said Kirkpatrick. The cause remains under investigation.Copyright Do you have more information about this story? Click here to contact usCopyright 2012 by 10News.com. All rights reserved.
