A fire caused extensive damage to a duplex home in San Marcos on Saturday.

"We responded to a structure fire at 1561 Via Entrada Del Lago at 12:26 p.m.," said San Marcos Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Vogt. "It was a fully-involved garage fire that extended throughout the house."Vogt said the two-alarm fire was in a duplex unit and also caused damage to the structure next door. Vogt said 36 firefighters responded to the blaze."It was controlled at 1:10 p.m.," he said.There was one non-fire related injury. A bystander who fell ill was hospitalized, Vogt said.The cause of the blaze is under investigation.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
