One of the smaller wildfires to erupt in San Diego County over the past two days scorched about 400 acres and destroyed at least one structure in Pine Hills before it was surrounded, authorities said.

The blaze, dubbed the McCoy Fire, started near Eagle Peak and Boulder Creek roads in Cleveland National Forest Monday, according to the California Department of Forestry.

Early Tuesday, firefighters had the blaze surrounded, fire Capt. Don Camp said.
