Fire burns Escondido apartment building

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - A two-alarm fire tore through a North County apartment complex Tuesday, authorities reported.

The blaze in the 700 block of East Mission Avenue in Escondido broke out shortly after 10:30 a.m., according to police.

At least four residential units were damaged, Sgt. Mike Kearny said. No injuries were reported.

The fire forced the closure of traffic lanes in the immediate area through the late morning, the sergeant said.
