SAN DIEGO - The family of a woman whose nude, bound body was found hanging in a Coronado mansion has filed a $10 million lawsuit claiming she was murdered.
Rebecca Zahau's body was found hanging at her boyfriend Jonah Shacknai's mansion in Coronado after his son fell from an inside staircase while in her care and died from his injuries a few days later. Zahau's death was ruled a suicide.
The lawsuit names Jonah Shacknai's brother, ex-wife and her twin sister. It alleges that Adam Shacknai, Dina Shacknai and Nina Romano "participated in some manner in the planning, implementation, execution and subsequent concealment of the scheme to murder" Zahau.
The suit claims the three were responsible for Zahau's death, but doesn't provide any specific evidence against them. No criminal charges were filed.
Saturday marks the two-year anniversary of Zahau's death.
