Families of 8 people killed in tour bus crash near Yucaipa file lawsuit

SAN DIEGO - A lawsuit was filed Monday in connection with a deadly bus crash that occurred near Yucaipa in February.
The suit was filed against a National City bus company on behalf of the family members of the eight people killed in the crash on state Route 38 in San Bernardino County. The bus was headed back to Tijuana after a day at Big Bear.
The suit alleges the bus company was negligent. The night of the crash, the bus driver told investigators he had brake problems.
"There was a failure that resulted in the bus rolling and killing, from my understanding, over eight people, injuring 25 to 30 other people seriously," said attorney James P. Frantz, who is representing the victims' families. "That's one of the worst bus accidents that I've seen."
