A 46-year-old Fallbrook man was killed Sunday in the Palomar Mountain area when he was ejected from the 2008 Yamaha R1 motorcycle he was driving northbound on South Grade Road near Canfield Road around 3 p.m.

The biker  "dropped his bike in a curve," was ejected and slid into the opposite lane of traffic where he was struck by a 2008 Nissan Versa driven by a 40-year-old man from Temecula, according to Officer Jim Bettencourt of the California Highway Patrol.

The biker was flown to Palomar Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

The collision is being investigated and it is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident, said Bettancourt.
