A former corrections officer who sexually assaulted a female inmate while on duty at the San Diego Metropolitan Correctional Center was sentenced Friday to 10 months in federal prison.

Brandon McKinney, 34, pleaded guilty in May to assault with intent to commit another felony.According to court documents, McKinney admitted engaging in a sex act with the unidentified woman prisoner while working at the MCC on July 20, 2010.The defendant was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Janis Sammartino.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
