The Escondido Humane Society is participating in a 12-hour adopt-a-thon Wednesday.

The event dubbed Furry Friendzy is part of the ASPCA $100K Challenge.The Escondido Humane Society is challenging itself to increase the number of adoptions in the months of August, September and October by 33 percent.The doors are currently open at the shelter located at 3450 E. Valley Parkway and will close tonight at 8 p.m.The first 25 people to adopt an animal will receive a free goodie bag and ALL adopters will receive a coupon for a free photo with their new family member.If you are concerned about the price of adoption, all fees are waived today during the adopt-a-thon.There will be live music, food and refreshments at Wednesdays event.For more information on the event, please visit Escondido Humane Society's websiteCopyright Do you have more information about this story?
