SAN DIEGO - A section of eastbound Interstate 8 reopened early Thursday after a violent crash that seriously injured one man.
The crash happened at 2 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-8 near the I-5 connector.
10News learned that a man in a Ford Explorer was traveling down the highway when he lost control and hit a tree.
Rescue workers used the jaws of life to extricate the driver from the heavily damaged vehicle.
He was taken to UCSD Medical Center.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
