Earthquake reported off California coast

SAN DIEGO - An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 hit Wednesday afternoon about 13 miles west of Del Mar, but caused no reported damage or significant ground tremors.

The 2:28 p.m. temblor was centered near Santa Catalina Island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake was also identified as being 13 miles southwest of Encinitas, 13 miles west-northwest of La Jolla, and 13 miles west-southwest  of Solana Beach.

A viewer from La Mesa contacted 10News to report feeling the temblor.

No emergency calls resulted from the shaker, according to dispatchers with several northern San Diego County public-safety agencies. The surf off the coast of Del Mar remained mild following the reported time of the quake, a city lifeguard said.
