SAN DIEGO - District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis is expected to endorse San Diego mayoral candidate Carl DeMaio Monday.

The announcement will be made at a noon press conference.

Dumanis, who is Republican, had scathing criticism for DeMaio's opponent Congressman Bob Filner, a Democrat.

In a statement, Dumanis described Filner as "disruptive, disrespectful and demeaning, especially to women."

"In contrast, Carl DeMaio has demonstrated the leadership and positive vision to be our next mayor," said Dumanis.

Dumanis finished last in her bid to be San Diego's next mayor during the primary elections against DeMaio, Filner and Nathan Fletcher.
