DULZURA, Calif. - A man killed in a head-on collision on state Route 94 in Dulzura that also injured three others was identified Sunday as a 69-year-old El Cajon resident, authorities said.

Juan Manuel Castro was driving a Nissan Sentra west on state Route 94, approaching Marron Valley Road, about 5:40 p.m. Saturday. The driver of an eastbound Ford Ranger apparently drifted into incoming traffic and the cars crashed, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. Castro died at the scene, authorities said.

A Border Patrol Agent came upon the wreckage shortly after the crash, but no one witnessed the crash, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

The pickup truck's driver and two passengers in the Nissan were injured, according to officials with the Medical Examiner's Office.

Two of the people involved in the crash were critically injured and flown to a hospital, according to Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler.

A fourth person involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, Mohler said.

That person was also hospitalized, authorities said.
