Driver Crashes After Trying To Flee From Police

Police Find 15 Pounds Of Marijuana, Possible Stolen Items

A man is in jail Friday after leading police in a chase and crashing into several parked cars.

The incident occurred just before midnight, according to police.

Police spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle on University Avenue and attempted to make a stop.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee refused to pull over and instead led police in a chase. The driver drove towards an alley and tried to make a turn in the 4500 block of Orange Avenue.

He crashed into several parked cars before attempting to flee on foot.

Police were able to catch up to him and he was arrested. Police said they searched the man's vehicle and they found 15 pounds of marijuana, worth about $15,000, as well as possible stolen items.

No one was injured in the collision.

The man is now facing felony evasion and drug charges, according to police.
