A man who plowed into a parked car said the crash happened after he swerved to avoid hitting a cat.

The accident occurred on Mohawk and 70th Streets in Rolando. The driver told police he was heading eastbound when a cat ran in front of him.He said he swerved his 2011 BMW to avoid hitting it and collided head-on with a parked car.Police performed several sobriety tests and the man passed, though he admitted to drinking earlier.Another accident was reported overnight where a driver suspected of being under the influence crashed on the Interstate 8 offramp to Fletcher Parkway and left the scene to drive to a nearby McDonald's.The crash occurred at 3:30 a.m. The woman slammed into a fence, scattering car parts on the road.But the woman driving the car, which had a smashed front, missing headlights and flat tire, left the scene and headed to a nearby McDonald's.La Mesa police followed a trail of leaked automobile fluids and found the woman at the McDonald's.Officers surrounded her vehicle and learned that she is on probation for driving under the influence.
