Marine arrested after Oceanside hit-run

OCEANSIDE - A man suspected of rolling his car and then fleeing from the scene was arrested late Sunday night in Oceanside.

The suspect lost control of his car at the intersection of Canyon Drive and Carey Road at 10:45 p.m., according to Oceanside police.

The man abandoned an injured female passenger and ran from the scene, police said. He was later caught on Eagles Nest Way.

The woman’s injuries did not appear to be serious, police added, although her condition was not confirmed.

The suspect, identified by police as a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton, faces charges of drunken driving and hit-and-run. His name was not released.
