An investigation was underway Monday into a possibly gang-related drive-by shooting that left a man and a bystander injured in the Lincoln Park area; followed by a road rage shooting about a mile away.

The apparent target of the shooting, a 33-year-old man, had just sat down on a bus stop bench after leaving a mini-mart at the corner of South 47th Street and Logan Avenue when someone inside a passing white SUV opened fire around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

He was struck twice in the leg and once in the chest. A woman who had also been waiting for the bus was hit once in her calf, according to the officer. Both were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Buttle said.

Just moments after that first shooting, a motorist who was apparently moving too slowly in traffic was shot at from the same vehicle at the on-ramp to I-805.

No one was injured in that incident.  A man who said he was the brother of the woman shooting victim told 10News, “I heard that she’s doin’ okay.”  Marlo Stewart went on to say, “All of our family and our prayers is in her hands. Whoever did this to her, I pray to God that justice be served. She never did anything to deserve something like this.”

The San Diego Police gang unit is investigating. There have been no arrests.
