OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Police are searching for a man after a violent family fight in Oceanside left a dog hospitalized with stab wounds.
The incident started at about 9 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Myers Street.
Police say a mother and her son were having a fight inside the home. The family's dogs got in the middle of the tussle. The son then pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the dogs, according to police.
The dog was taken to a vet and is expected to recover.
The son fled the scene. Police are searching for him because they want to charge him with animal cruelty.
