SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – It was a gift that brought a Chula Vista family to tears.

Someone stole Dan Lazam’s medical scooter on Monday. It was plugged in and charging on his porch.  Lazam has a series of health issues that make it difficult for him to move around.

Lazam couldn’t afford to buy a new one, so he emailed the company that made the scooter, asking them if they offered a financing plan. The company, Golden Technologies, responded and offered Lazam a free scooter.

Golden Technologies is based out of Pennsylvania but contacted All Home Medical Supply in San Diego, one of their distributors. They explained Lazam's story and asked them to help.

Tuesday afternoon Lazam and his family went to the store to pick up the new scooter, free of charge.

“To give back like this and to be part of something like this is just is just beyond words,” Malcolm Brooks, the Director of Marketing for All Home Medical Supply, said.

“It’s everything to me,” Lazam said. “There are angels out there.”

Lazam says Golden Technologies is also sending him a charging deck. It will allow him to charge the batteries for his scooter inside the house.
