A San Diego County sheriff's deputy was injured Friday morning after attempting to make an arrest in Lemon Grove.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Olive streets, according to authorities.The deputy was attempting to question two men who may have had a pipe in their possession.The deputy was in the process of making contact with the men, but one of them ran away. The deputy chased after him, but ended up taking a tumble.Authorities launched a search with a helicopter and K-9 units, but the man who fled was not found. Authorities told 10News the deputy is doing fine.Authorities told 10News one of the men was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for being under the influence.
