Beverly Gligo was on foot fighting with the other woman in the 11300 block of El Nopal about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday when Gligo decided to get into her sport utility vehicle, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Scott Enyeart.

Gligo's children -- an infant and 4-year-old -- were in the SUV as their mother proceeded to drive toward the other woman, the sergeant said in a statement.

It was unclear whether the other woman was actually struck by the SUV. Enyeart described the other woman's injuries as minor.

As Gligo tried to drive off, her vehicle became wedged between a tree and fence post. Neither of her children were hurt, but Gligo complained of pain from the fight, Enyeart said.

Gligo was arrested and booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee on suspicion of attempted murder and felony child endangerment. According to Enyeart, her mother took custody of the children.
