POWAY, Calif. - Authorities in Poway said they are investigating an attempted bank robbery Friday.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said a man entered the US Bank branch at 12265 Scripps Poway Parkway at around 2:38 p.m., handed a bank employee a demand note and then verbally demanded cash.
Deputies said the bank employee gestured that she did not have any cash at her desk and the man took back the note. The man then looked around the bank and noticed that there were no other employees at the other teller windows and walked out of the bank without any money.
Investigators described the man as “light skinned,” about 18-25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black and gray hooded jacket with a baseball hat, black jeans and white shoes. The F.B.I. is assisting local deputies with their follow up investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 858-565-5200, or the Poway Sheriff's Station at 858-513-2848.
