A delivery truck driver was stabbed by a man asking for change in the East Village early Friday, police said.

The stabbing in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue was reported at 3:25 a.m., according to San Diego police Sgt. Todd Sluss.The injury is not life-threatening, the sergeant said in a statement.The assailant fled on foot and may be a transient, Sluss said.
