Dave & Buster's Shooter Gets 19-Year Sentence

Mark Bautista Pleaded Guilty To Assault With A Firearm In The 2008 Attack

A man who shot two security guards and an assistant manager outside a Mission Valley restaurant after being told to leave was sentenced Wednesday to 19 years in state prison.

Mark Bautista, 24, pleaded guilty last month to three counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in the Nov. 8, 2008, shooting outside Dave & Busters at 2931 Camino del Rio North.

Three men and a woman were told to leave the restaurant just after 12:30 a.m. that Saturday, and security guards later pepper-sprayed the group to break up a fight outside, prosecutors said.

The participants got into a BMW and a Honda Civic. According to police, Bautista fired several shots from inside the BMW as it pulled away, wounding the three victims.
