SAN DIEGO - A 72-year-old man fell from his from his bike while riding in Torrey Pines State Reserve Sunday and suffered a life-threatening head injury, San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick said.
The bicyclist was headed downhill in the 11600 block of North Torrey Pines Road toward Torrey Pines State Beach when he lost control of his bike and fell around 8:30 a.m., the sergeant said.
The sergeant also said that although he was wearing a helmet, he sustained a life-threatening head injury.
