Crooks steal decorations from popular Christmas light display in Allied Gardens

SAN DIEGO - A woman known citywide for her Christmas decorations called 10News looking for help after crooks stole some of her most expensive displays.

Gina Dobbins has been setting up the decorations in Allied Gardens for a decade.

"I was actually in just complete shock," said Dobbin."I just can't believe it."

Dobbins woke up and found 12 of her displays – worth more than $1,500 – missing from her yard.

"Really, I panicked," Dobbins said. "I panicked. I mean, what am I going to do on Saturday?"

This weekend, she is expecting dozens of families who show up to meet Santa. It is an event she has every year.

"I don't have children, but I do it for the neighborhood kids," Dobbins added.

She called police and took some inventory, but so far there are no leads to the crooks who stole her Christmas.

"You're always going to have a Scrooge," Dobbins said. "You're always going to have a Grinch, but I'm trying to not let them ruin my spirit."
