SAN DIEGO - Firefighters knocked down a brush fire that broke out Saturday behind Challenger Middle School in Mira Mesa, fire officials said.
The fire, which burned a quarter of an acre, was reported in a canyon behind Challenger Middle School in the 10000 block of Parkdale Avenue at about 11:35 a.m. Just after 12 p.m., the fire was knocked down.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
