Crews rescue man from overpass above I-8; traffic slowed

LA MESA, Calif. - Traffic is moving slowly on eastbound Interstate 8 at Lake Murray Boulevard after authorities successfully brought a man down from an overpass.
The incident was first reported shortly before 4:15 p.m. after a man was seen standing on the side of the overpass.
After California Highway Patrol officers talked to the man, fire crews used a ladder to help the man down from the overpass.
CHP officials said the man may have been in some kind of altercation prior to making his way to the bridge.
All lanes on eastbound I-8 were reopened shortly before 5:30 p.m.
