JULIAN, Calif. - Fire officials on Sunday said a wildfire started by a motorcycle crash north of Julian was completely contained at 15 acres.

The blaze, which started Friday about 1:30 p.m., was 100 percent contained at 7 p.m. Saturday, said Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler.

"There was one minor injury to a firefighter and no structure damage," Mohler said.

Mohler said the motorcyclist slid off the pavement near Wynola Road at Farmer Road, and the crash sparked flames that spread rapidly up a brushy roadside slope.

Medics took the injured motorcyclist to a hospital. He was not identified and his condition was not reported.
