Crews contain brush fire in Valley Center

VALLEY CENTER - Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a small brush fire that broke out in the Valley Center area of north San Diego County Monday morning.

The fire sparked a little before 10 a.m. near Old Castle Road and Altamira Lane, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

Some home were threatened, but crews knocked down the fire before it spread and caused any damage. It only burned about one acre of brush.

The cause is under investigation.
