SAN DIEGO - A crash involving a semi-truck, a taxi and another vehicle blocked lanes on westbound state Route 94 near Federal Boulevard Monday afternoon.
The crash, in which the semi-truck jackknifed, happened at about 12:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
According to the CHP, the taxi came to rest on an embankment on the right shoulder of the highway.
A Sig Alert was issued at 12:43 p.m., and authorities closed all westbound lanes and one lane on the eastbound side of SR-94 for the clean-up effort.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but the CHP is looking into the possibility a green Mitsubishi may have cut off another car, which may have in turn caused the semi-truck to spin out.
The Sig Alert was canceled and all lanes were cleared just before 2 p.m.
