Three children suffered facial scrapes, bumps and bruises Monday when the minivan in which they were riding collided with a bus carrying disabled passengers near Southwestern College, according to authorities.
The Mazda MPV, driven by the youngsters' mother, crashed into the other vehicle at East Palomar Street and La Media Road in Chula Vista about 9:30 a.m., according to police. It then careened off the roadway, overturned and
came to rest on its driver's side, Lt. Phil Collum said.
Medics took the children to a hospital along with their mother, who had no obvious injuries but was complaining of pain, according to Collum.
No one aboard the bus was injured, the lieutenant said.
