A grand opening is scheduled Tuesday for two newly constructed office buildings and a conference center at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa.

The four-story buildings will provide 300,000 square feet of floor space to house 2,000 employees from 19 departments. The 15,000-square-foot conference center has a cafe and a garden roof.The openings complete a $294 million overhaul of the operations complex, including two other office buildings, a central plant, parking structure and utility upgrades. County officials said the project came in $20 million under budget and that the new buildings are environmentally friendly.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
