San Marcos - The shot or shots shattered 2 glass panels next to some doors in front of the multiplex cinema. It happened while the lobby was crowded with theatre goers, so it could've been much worse.
10News is told a bullet hit the female employee in the arm. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she's expected to be OK. Sheriff's Lt. Mike Munsey told 10News the shot or shots came from outside the theatre, either from the theatre's parking lot or from across the street. He told 10News the shot was believed to have been fired as part of a fight that had nothing to do with the theatre.
This would be a frightening situation on any night, but Lt. Munsey said things were especially tense with memories of the theatre shooting in Aurora, Colorado fresh in everyone's mind.
The theatre was not evacuated and not locked down. Munsey said several people were seen leaving the area in cars right after the shooting. Whoever is responsible for the frightening incident was still on the loose as of late Friday night.
