CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Chula Vista police warned motorists that especially heavy traffic is expected around the Sleep Train Amphitheatre for Friday night's Rascal Flatts concert and again Saturday night as Slightly Stoopid takes the stage.

Traffic congestion is expected to build beginning around 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday on southbound Interstate 805 to the Main Street and on Main Street from Interstate 805 to the venue, police said.

Concertgoers will also have to contend with construction work on carpool lanes in the area and the usual rush-hour traffic.

Area residents and drivers headed to a destination around the venue are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as the South Bay Expressway to Otay Mesa Road, or southbound Interstate 5 to eastbound state Route 905, northbound I-805, then Main Street.
