SAN DIEGO - A Marine was pulled from the water near Silver Strand State Beach about an hour after he disappeared Thursday during training.
The unidentified Marine was reported missing during the training exercise about 10 a.m. and was located by the Navy around 11 a.m., according to U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Connie Gawrelli. It was unclear what type of training was being conducted.
One helicopter and two Coast Guard boats were dispatched as part of the search.
The Marine was conscious when he was pulled from the water, Coast Guard officials said, but further information on his condition was not released.
