Disabled Boat Was Taking On Water Off Coast Of Point Loma

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued five people Monday night from a boat that had become disabled and was taking on water off the coast of Point Loma, according to the maritime agency.The 25-foot pleasure craft was drifting toward the rocks at Sunset Cliffs when someone on board used a cell phone to call for help at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the USCG's public affairs office advised.The passengers were transferred from the disabled boat to a U.S. Coast Guard vessel and the disabled boat was towed to Shelter Island.No injuries were reported.
