Chula Vista Councilwoman Pamela Bensoussan is scheduled to help ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange Thursday, a reward for the city's environmental efforts.Chula Vista was one of four government bodies honored by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability for the Green Business Challenge, in which companies compete against each other to lower energy use, reduce waste and use less water.Bensoussan will be joined by representatives of the cities of Austin, Texas and Bellevue, Wash.; and the Triangle J Council of Governments in North Carolina.ICLEI -- the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives --will help with the Green Challenge for one year with training employees and providing resources and measurement tools.
