Chula Vista police seek hit-and-run driver that struck boy crossing street in marked crosswalk

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A hit-and-run driver in a Mercedes-Benz struck a boy crossing a Chula Vista roadway in a marked crosswalk, police said Sunday.

Witnesses said the driver of the light blue C-Class luxury car was headed eastbound in the 1300 block of East Palomar Street shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle struck the boy and continued east, according to Chula Vista police.

The driver's side mirror and headlight were damaged in the crash, police said.

The boy was taken to Rady Children's Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which police said were not life-threatening.
