CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Firefighters knocked down a fire at a home in Chula Vista on Sunday.
It was reported at about 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Woodlawn Avenue. Arriving firefighters reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the second floor. The bottom unit of the home was vacant.
The fire started in a bedroom and firefighters were able to contain the fire to that room. No damage estimate was immediately available.
Two adults and one child were displaced. The Red Cross has been requested to assist them.
One person was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
