CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A Chula Vista teacher has been arrested for allegedly having child pornography.

In a letter sent to parents on Friday, Wolf Canyon Elementary School Principal Debra McLaren said that a teacher at the school had been arrested "for issues related to his private life. We assure you that none of the charges he is facing deal with any of our student(s)."

McLaren did not reveal the teacher's name in the letter.

A Department of Homeland Security representative confirmed to 10News that 41-year-old John Kinloch, a first grade teacher at Wolf Canyon, was arrested by the local Internet Crimes Against Children task force and charged with possession of child porn.

San Diego Jail records show Kinloch was booked Friday morning and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
