A Christmas Day brush fire south of the border sent smoke into the sky that was visible from around San Diego. According to Mexican officials, the fire was located near Rosarito and began just before 12 p.m. The fire burned for about two hours as winds pushed the smoke to the west and high enough to be visible well to the north.
Officials said that no homes were damaged and there were no injuries. They said they were looking at fireworks as having possibly sparked the blaze.
