At least 1 killed in crash on state Route 78 at Old Julian Highway

RAMONA, Calif. - A vehicle overturned on state Route 78 in the Ramona area, killing a person Thursday.
The wreck near the highway's junction with Old Julian Highway was reported shortly before 1 p.m., and California Highway Patrol officer pronounced a person dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
The wreck downed power lines, and CHP officers closed Route 78 between the accident site and Route 79.
Two people were in the vehicle, but no other information was made available about injuries to the survivor.
A Sig Alert issued immediately following the crash was lifted shortly before 4:30 p.m.
