A California Highway Patrol officer was hospitalized on Sunday after his motorcycle went off state Route 94 west of Barrett Junction.

According to the CHP, as the officer went around a sharp curve in the road, he leaned too far and the frame of his motorcycle touched the ground. That caused the officer's motorcycle to slide out from under him and it skidded off the road and down an embankment.The officer -- who had let go of the motorcycle before it went down the embankment -- was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
