SAN DIEGO - Several community egg hunts are scheduled for children around San Diego County Saturday.
The festivities start at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and egg hunt at the Spring Valley Community Center, 8735 Jamacha Blvd. The event will be hosted by the local Kiwanis Club.
The city of Carlsbad will hold its Eggstravaganza Spring Festival beginning at 10 a.m. at Poinsettia Community Park, 6600 Hidden Valley Road. The event will hold multiple egg hunts through 12:30 p.m. to make it convenient for families to attend, city spokeswoman Rachael Shay said. There will also be photos with the Easter Bunny, a scavenger hunt and a chance for parents to check out summer camps.
"Community events like these are part of what makes the city of Carlsbad a special place to live, where neighbors can connect and families can thrive." Shay said.
At 10 a.m., the Salvation Army Kroc Center will hold its 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Festival at 6845 University Avenue. More than 1,500 children are expected to attend the free event.
The County of San Diego will host an egg hunt at 10 a.m. at Dos Picos County Park in Ramona, 17953 Dos Picos Park Road.
