SAN DIEGO - A toddler was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after apparently falling out of a second-story window.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the incident happened just after 4 p.m. in the 11200 block of Gold Bar Way in Lakeside.
The sheriff's watch commander said the child was crying and breathing when emergency crews arrived.
The child was taken to Rady Children's Hospital, but the toddler's condition was not immediately released.
The cause of the child's fall remains under investigation.
