SAN DIEGO - A two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 Monday snarled traffic near Mission Bay Park and sent three people to hospitals, at least one with major injuries, authorities said.
The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes approaching Sea World Drive shortly after 11 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. An SUV overturned in the left lane, CHP officials said.
Three people, including a child, were taken to hospitals, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said. The CHP reported major injuries were sustained in the crash.
By 12:45 p.m., all lanes were reported clear, according to the CHP.
