Castle Park Middle School principal mysteriously removed from school

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Parents and staff at Castle Park Middle School in Chula Vista are wanting answers after the principal was mysteriously removed.

Many parents like Imelda Guzman hadn't heard the news.

"That was a surprise for me because we didn't know nothing," Guzman said.

The Sweetwater Union High School District is keeping quiet. Officials told 10News that principal Robert Bleisch has been temporarily reassigned to the planning department because of a personnel issue. He is working on a special project but officials won't say what it is.

"We want to make sure we're doing the right thing before we let everybody know of more specifics," said Manuel Rubio, spokesman for Sweetwater Union High School District. "We need to make sure we're saying the right things as well."

Team10 has learned an attorney interviewed teachers on campus Tuesday. In audio obtained from a source, Superintendent Dr. Edward Brand is heard telling staff about Bleisch's temporary reassignment.

"it appears there have been more extensive allegations about not following rules and doing other things," Brand told staff. "Again, I'm not here to judge him."

But, Guzman says she still doesn't know why the principal was removed and won't be at ease until she finds out.

"That would be very good if they notified us of everything that's going on at school. It's important for us as a parent to know what problem we have at school," said Guzman.

The district says Principal Bleisch will stay reassigned until the investigation is complete, which could take another couple weeks.
