CHULA VISTA, Calif. - A woman was seriously injured Wednesday after she swerved out of control and slammed her car into a fire hydrant Wednesday morning.
The crash happened at 12:02 a.m. on Olympic Parkway and caused a 100-foot geyser to shoot up into the sky.
Police officers said the woman complained of pain to her chest and 10News learned that she was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
10News learned that the woman told officers that she swerved because she was trying to avoid another driver. She was not cited and water was turned off in the area as workers attempt to fix the fire hydrant.
